“The new Continued Assistance Act signed into law December 27, 2020 requires claimants to provide employment evidence. Tax documents can be used to meet this requirement and do not need to be re-submitted if previously provided. Notices will be sent to those who need to provide employment evidence documentation. Failure to provide employment evidence will result in denial of benefits. This law also provides 11 additional weeks for PEUC and PUA, beginning the week of December 27, 2020. If you applied for and received PUA benefits after you exhausted PEUC, you will be required to stop collecting benefits under PUA and continue receiving the additional 11 weeks of PEUC. You will receive a notice with additional instructions. If you exhausted PUA prior to December 26, 2020, you are eligible to receive additional weeks of PUA beginning the week of December 27, 2020. You are not eligible to receive benefits for the weeks after you exhausted through December 26, 2020; however, you must certify for those weeks you are not eligible for in order to certify for eligible weeks beginning with the week of December 27, 2020.”
