“芝加哥：世界最大”芝城(Chicago)游记

我是乘火车到达芝加哥旅游的。走出联合车站，满眼的高楼大厦，其中一座高耸云端的与导游图册一对比，正是着名的西尔斯大厦(Sears Tower，现更名为威利斯大厦)。信步走入大楼，竟要象乘飞机一样接受安检，想想应该是“9.11”后遗症吧。上电梯来到游客中心，好长的队伍哟，一块指示牌标明需排队一个半小时。还好只排了一个小时！就到达购票处，每人10.45刀。美利坚很注重科普的，参观先看纪录片：西尔斯大厦高433米，地上110层，地下３层。1974年建成，曾是世界第一高楼，如今仍是北美第一高楼。
我们乘坐的是世界最快电梯之一，1分钟到达103层的摩天台，每层仅用0.58秒。想起咱家的蜗牛电梯，差距咋这么大呢。站在摩天台上，不但能看到芝加哥全景，更为奇特的是可远眺四个州：印第安纳丶威斯康辛丶密歇根和伊利诺伊。正是这样的四州交汇之地，成就了芝加哥的重要枢纽地位。芝加哥本为内陆，但1825年建成伊利运河，1948年又建成圣劳伦斯河道，使密歇根湖与密西西比河及大西洋联成一体。河道丶大湖丶运河在美国东北部，织成一个廉价的水路运输网，芝加哥也成为这里最重要的港口城市。从高处俯瞰，河道纵横，帆船点点，“水上的士”往来穿梭，可谓水乡与都市的完美组合。
芝加哥素有“博物馆之都”的美誉，据说各种类型的博物馆多达50余家。最着名的是芝加哥美术馆丶自然史博物馆以及科学和工业博物馆。去芝加哥美术馆(The Art Institute of Chicago)那天，恰逢星期二，博物馆免费开放。美国多数博物馆都有免费日，而且提供不同种类的套票，如果能搞清楚，可以省不少钱。这座美术馆是美国三大美术馆之一，有很多雷诺阿丶毕加索丶梵高的名画。所有画作挂在墙上，伸手可及并无遮拦。馆内可随意拍照，但不能使用闪光灯，防止破坏艺术品的色彩。平日在画报上看到的大师画作，如今就在眼前，那种感觉难以名状呀。在现代艺术展厅里，最大的一幅竟是“毛主席画像”，让我这个炎黄子孙颇有些惊诧。更让人意想不到的是，还有可以吃的艺术品！亮晶晶的糖果堆成一座小山，灯光下散发着诱人的光彩，游客可以随意取用。(US美国旅游网)
菲尔德自然史博物馆(Field Museum of Natural History)，原计划用2个小时参观的，但是4个小时都没走完。这里展出的涉及人类学丶植物学丶动物学丶地质学等诸多领域，揭示物种演进的奥秘。还可了解不同种族人们的生活习俗，包括中国丶日本丶印第安丶非洲等专区。总体感觉是，与中国的博物馆气氛完全不同！这座博物馆颇具真实感，有森林丶有河流丶有部落丶有农舍……还运用现代化的声光电等手段，为参观者营造出不同的氛围。互动式问题板是一大亮点，其中有个问题“一百万是多少”？按下回答按钮，黑色幕布上随即出现1颗亮点，然后是10颗丶100颗……直到密密麻麻。还有件事我印象深刻：一位非洲姑娘用小绳子表演我们叫做“翻绞绞”的绳戏。我上前和她对翻起来，居然翻法一模一样！她告诉我说，不同种族的人都玩这个绳戏，这说明人类有很多共同之处。芝加哥还有一座占地14公顷的科学和工业博物馆，可惜我无法安排时间去了。PS：去博物馆一定要带上快译通，除非你的英语和母语一样好。
“芝加哥：世界最大”是一首民歌，可惜我没有听过，但芝加哥人的自豪之情溢于言表。1871年8月，一场大火将整座城市夷为平地。芝加哥人硬是在废墟上，建起世界最高的大楼丶世界最大的照明喷泉丶世界最繁忙的交通枢纽以及最成功的快餐文化——麦当劳……芝加哥是我美国之行的最后一站。临别那天晚上，我漫步在号称“壮丽一英里”的密歇根大道，看着华灯初上的都市，走过城市中的花园绿地，找寻着世界最大的照明喷泉。美丽的光影，流动的水，彩色的雾，一时直入云霄，一时又如荷花绽放……此时才真切体会到，为什么有那么多的人在做这个美国梦。
