第17届芝加哥羽毛球公开赛圆满落幕

【芝加哥侨学网讯】第17届芝加哥羽毛球公开赛（Chicago Open）9月20日在西郊中西部羽毛球俱乐部落下帷幕，来自全美15个州的280多名羽毛球选手参加了为期三天的角逐，并决出男子单打、女子单打、男双、女双、男女混合双打五个项目的冠军。

本届比赛男单冠军，由中国国家青年羽毛球前队员、中西部羽毛球俱乐部教练吕晟获得。现年21岁的吕晟以中国国家队队员的实力轻松夺冠。而女子单打更是英雄出少年，年仅13岁的华裔选手Emma Lin，在激烈的比赛脱颖而出，勇夺女子单打冠军。

这是美中地区乃至全美范围羽毛球届的盛事，280多名参赛选手以伊州大学芝加哥分校（UIC）、伊州理工学院（IIT）、伊州大学香槟分校（UIUC）、普度大学(Purdue University)、爱荷华州立大学、密西根大学、威斯康辛大学麦迪逊分校等芝加哥及美中地区高校的羽毛球健儿为主，还包括从加州、德州、佛州等地远道而来的羽毛球爱好者。特别值得一提的是，芝加哥西郊瑞柏市（Naperville, IL）五所高中的羽毛球球队也派出选手参赛。

羽毛球运动向来在亚裔群体中广受欢迎，本届比赛的参赛者也以华裔、印度裔、马拉西亚裔、印尼裔青少年为主。本届芝加哥公开赛选手们实力雄厚，参赛选手、美中羽毛球俱乐部教练吕晟，是中国国家青年羽毛球队前队员、2012中国羽毛球青年赛单打冠军吕晟。本届比赛“国家级”实力选手还包括菲律宾国家羽毛球队前队员Christopher Flores，曾获菲律宾全国羽毛球比赛单打冠军。Christopher Flores目前也是美中羽毛球俱乐部的教练。

比赛赛事紧张激烈，组织工作确实有条不紊，井然有序，赛制则严格依照全美羽毛球协会(US Badminton Association)规则进行，分男女组羽毛球单打、双打，男女混合双打。在三天角逐之后，各组均决出了最后名次。男打冠军由吕晟获得；男子双打冠军为Rangga Yave Rianto、Mohammad Rijal；女单冠军为Emma Lin；女子双打冠军为Renee Olson、Ngoc Se；混合双打冠军为吕晟、Lauren Ho。特别值得一提的是，女子单打冠军Emma Lin 年仅13岁，是芝加哥西郊初中年级学生。

芝加哥公开赛主办方美中羽毛球俱乐部(Midwest Badminton Club)，是伊州唯一一个专业羽毛球场馆，多年来来承办过众多地区性、全美性羽毛球赛事，比如今年2月的全美青少年羽毛球排名赛（美中地区）。美中羽毛球俱乐部创办人曾为(Thomas Chen)表示，该俱乐部非常荣幸能承办芝加哥公开赛，这项有着17年历史的赛事，已是美中地区羽毛球界的一大盛事，对于进一步推广和普及羽毛球运动，提升美中地区羽毛球竞技水平有着非常重要的意义。
