缅街大型基建拓宽工程完工

【侨报记者王伊琳11月9日纽约报道】20年来缅街首次大型基建拓宽工程在历时逾一年后终于在9日完工，市交通局、市建筑和设计局与市议员顾雅明办公室9日在缅街交罗斯福大道的街头上正式宣布，标志纽约市第二大繁忙的街口的人流拥挤状况将大大减缓。
耗资780万元的缅街拓宽工程是逾20年来首次进行的大型基建工程，拓宽范围是38大道至41大道，拓宽的距离是9呎，拓宽后的街道的拥堵的现象大大改善，行人流通的速度更快。工程还包括更新地下水管、集水槽、消防系统、高质量的路灯和交通灯、钢筋混凝巴士停靠站点以及从40路交罗斯福大道间的向北的特选巴士专用道。此项工程由市建筑和设计局代市交通局管理。

皇后区交通局局长Nicole Garcia介绍，因拓宽工程施行的缅街新交规将可能被永久实施，目前他们正使用“动态法拉盛”(Flushing in Motion)技术探测法拉盛的交通，此技术约在一年半前已实施，具体内容是使用微博探测器、监控视频与E-ZPass等在多个路口探测交通速度，他们将根据六个月的调查结果来决定是否将暂时交规长久化。此外，因拓宽工程被改道的巴士站点将预计在一周内回复到原来位置。

市议员顾雅明表示，耗时超过一年的缅街拓宽工程终于完成，缅街是全市继时报广场外拥有第二大人流量的街道，过去，此街道无法满足行人与车辆等的需求，然而现在情况终于改变，增加的距离不仅给行人更多空间，也将造福小商家。不过，他也指出，增加的空间并不是让更多无证小贩有生存的空间，他将在接下来几周内提出新案，严打无证在人行道上售卖的小摊贩，且使市交通局参与其中，改变只是市消费局参与的局面。此外，他的办公室也耗资30万元至此拓宽项目。

因缅街拓宽工程使用的暂时新交规包括从北方大道驶入缅街的南行私家车到达缅街交37大道路口时，应右转至37大道，从王子街、大学点大道绕道至40路，并在40路向东行驶进入缅街；在37大道上西向行驶的车辆在缅街路口不可左转至缅街，需直行或右转进入北方大道；在38大道和39大道上向东行驶的私家车在行驶至缅街路口时，不可右转至缅街。公交车和运输车辆不在此次改道限行范围内。
