我在美国的6次路考经历

去年八月随夫从中国移居美国，立刻陶醉于当地清新的空气和满眼的绿色之中。第一个月由于老公刚从海外分公司调回美国总部，处于新职位的接任之际，故有大量时间驾车带我购物逛街丶外出就餐丶游山玩水丶探亲访友。
一个月之后，老公的工作日渐繁忙，我这个家庭主妇只好自行打发时间，才发现了一个迫切的任务—考驾照。在这个车就好比两条腿的国家，不能开车可是寸 步难行。于是到当地ＤＭＶ办公室先申请笔试，凭着一点儿小聪明和多年培养出来的的英文应试能力，笔试轻松通过，拿到了DRIVING PERMIT。
老公载我到了我们家附近一片没有什么车光临的空旷之地，给我演示了怎么使用油们丶刹车丶转向灯等等之后，就让我坐到了驾驶员的位置，于是我这个从未 摸过方向盘丶见车就慌的人开始了练车。在老公感觉我不会撞上人之后，又让我开始在我家所在的小区里开。就这样三天打鱼丶两天晒网地练了将近三个月，怀着忐 忑不安的心情和对路考的好奇，去参加了第一次路考，也从此拉开了我艰难的路考“血泪史”。
第一次路考
一个表情非常严肃的中年男子考官坐进了我的车，感觉他的英语像是从鼻孔里哼哼出来的。驶出ＤＭＶ停车场后，过了两个STOP SIGN，忽听得一声指令：“turn left on the next stop light。”我的脑子开始发蒙：什么是“stop light”，本小姐只听说过“traffic light or intersection”。就这样在迷惑中前行，看见前方有一交通灯，又在迷惑中左转，突然看到一辆警车迎面过来，才发现自己转到了对方车道。结果可想 而知了：警察拦下我的车，我的考官赶紧钻出车，上前向警察同志说明情况，警察同志还不错，为我义务地指挥了一会儿被我搞地混乱的交通，直到把我送到正确车 道。第一次路考就这样很快的fail了。
教训：“stop light”是“traffic light”的同义词。
第二次路考
当考官出现在我面前时，感觉这张脸颇为熟悉，还是上次那考官！心中不免暗自紧张，也只能硬着头皮上路了，只期盼能听懂他的全部指令。前半部分路程还 好，没有犯大的错误，但就在我刚经过一个STOP SIGN时听到考官嘴里嘟囔了些什么，没听懂，慌乱之中犯了一个致命的错误——在十字路口中间踩了煞车，这时就见左面驶来一辆大卡车，考官惊叫一声！！！ 关键时刻上帝又保佑了，那辆卡车及时踩住了刹车。这次路考又以该考官受惊吓而结束。估计打死他也再不想坐进我的车。
教训：如果没有听懂考官的指令，千万不要慌乱，绝对不能乱踩刹车，继续镇静前行，温柔地说一声：“Pardon”。
第三次路考
这回换了个考官，也是一中年男子，面目慈祥很多，肚子像是怀胎六月，往我的小车里一坐，车的重心陡然下降。全程开下来自我感觉良好，就等着考官说 “you pass”，结果等来的是“your parallel parking is not good enough. I can’t let you pass”。
教训：考官希望你everything perfect。
第四次路考
这次路考可以说被fail得史无前例。一面带微笑的年轻帅哥考官坐进了我的车，让我的心情一下轻松不少。就在我backing up并将方向盘开始左打时，传来一声大吼“stop!!!”。猛然急煞车还不知何故。考官曰“the head of your car almost hit the car on your right side. It’s dangerous. You fail.”整个过程不足五秒钟。此时老公刚找了个椅子坐下来准备等我，屁股还没捂热，就又把我拉回家了。
教训：强化如何正确得在满是车辆的garage 里back up一百次。
第五次路考
自我感觉整个考试过程一切顺利。当听到考官说“I can’t let you pass. You didn’t stop completely in front of a stop sign; you shouldn’t take the right side of the road when you are doing turnabout, blah, blah, blah…。”望着他那一张一动的嘴，我出离愤怒了！不在沉默中爆发，就在沉默中灭亡！五次路考失败的压抑终于如火山般喷发。我对他大声说：“let me talk to your sergeant. I think you are mean and you are wrong to me。”他和他的同事惊讶地看着我，说：“ you can’t see our sergeant today. He went to get trained and will come back next week. You can talk to him next week if you want。”但我死活不愿离开，当时满脑子就一个想法：今天我非要讨个说法不可。最后老公好说歹说把我劝出了办公室。在回家的路上，我的眼泪不停地流，感 觉自己怎么这么失败。
