美中杯篮球赛名花有主：网球公开赛续下月响锣

由美中华人康体文娱联会(美中华联) 主办的亚裔月美中杯篮球公开赛，日前在西郊橡树溪市（Oak Brook）运动场馆圆满落幕。今年共有十队健儿组队报名参加，“蒙古奇兵芝市队”勇夺冠军，连续七年参加本赛事的“奇迹世代队”获得亚军。

参赛队伍分两组先打小组循环比赛，然后每组成绩最好两队晋级打四强淘汰赛。今年各队实力相当接近，很多场比赛结果，都在五分之内定胜负。去年冠军的蒙古雄兵，今年也回来卫冕。无奈队中两员主将受伤缺阵，实力大打折扣。此消彼长，竟连四强资格也不能拿下。

汰弱留强，在经过半日马不停蹄的一连串比赛之后，最后四强的队伍分别为来自印州的Gozilla队、两支守土有责的芝城华人球队“青龙友谊队“及 “奇蹟世代队”。而最后一席是被另一支蒙古奇兵芝市队夺得。而后者芝市队亦是在淘汰赛中连过两关勇夺今年冠军的队伍，奇蹟世代队则屈居亚军。“奇蹟世代队”参加美中盃已逾七年，遗憾他们以前毎年均未能跻身三甲，今年是他们第一次夺盃。多年努力，终有成绩肯定，可喜可贺。赛后即由美中华联永远会长梅国炘及副会长徐婕雯主持颁奖，而今年的美中盃篮球赛赛事至此亦完满结束。

跟随而来的6月21日星期六，美中华联将再度推出美中盃网球公开邀请赛。今年赛事仍在南华埠的顿巴公园 (Dunbar Park) 内举行。今年除本有公开组男单、男双、女单及溷双外，还有为四十岁以上的青松派男子双打。此项一日完的赛事现已公开接受报名。
